Stress has a detrimental effect on our immune system. Our bodies are an intricate network of processes, systems, cells, tissues and organs that work together to defend the body against attacks by unknown invaders. There are two types of stress: the good stress and the bad stress. The good stress, usually further strengthens and makes the body ready for any possible threat that needs a quick response. However, the psychological stress, which ignites when we are put in a situation where our attention is needed more than necessary, that is when overthinking overrides our rational thinking; our emotions are all over the place; when we believe the distortion of the reality to be true.
Unfortunately, this is the current state of the world today. We are driven by fear, scarcity, and a massive wave of cascading negative outcomes. These factors lead people to go and decide rashly which results in shaky decision-making outcomes. This form of decision making and emotional state inspires selfishness, separation, and in some cases violence. This pandemic has now taught us one biggest lesson, that we have to come together as a community. It’s not only about you, it’s not only about me, it’s about us. It’s not only about the survival of your family or your children or your loved ones. It’s affecting all of us wherever we are, whatever the age, and whatever health condition we may have. Not taking care of each other by being there for each other and providing and sharing our resources when our fellow being is in need will not make our situation any better. Our response to this stress pandemic will not be from the physiological aspects or attempting to make a vaccine. We totally believe in the scientists of the world to find a way to create robust precautions of this fatal pandemic. What we are really concerned about is the psychological pandemic that it’s happening all over the world; which is not helping the world in flattening the curve of this outbreak. We are curating resources for you and a platform to connect you to your fellow peers, health coaches, other fellow human beings who may need your helping hand at a timely manner. Let's lift each other up in this trying times. Remember, we are in this together.
